WHC: Gold Medal Game - Finland 1, Switzerland 0 (OT)

Konsta Helenius scored the overtime winner to send Finland to a 1-0 victory over Switzerland in the gold medal game at the men’s World Hockey Championship on Sunday. The goal broke an intense back-and-forth between two sides battling furiously for gold for over 10 minutes in the overtime period.

Norway stunned Canada in overtime of the bronze medal game to capture its first World Hockey Championship medal. Noah Steen scored the winner 3:32 into overtime. The previous best result for Norway was a fourth-place finish in 1951.


Bergeron, Campbell-Pascall among eight inducted into IIHF Hall of Fame

Patrice Bergeron and Cassie Campbell-Pascall were among eight new members to be inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame. Andres Ambuhl, Niklas Kronwall, Florence Schelling, and Thomas Vanek — and two builders, Ralph Krueger and Luc Tardif - were the other inductees who made up the Class of 2026.
