Jacob Berglund had a natural hat trick in the second period to lead Norway to a win over Slovenia at the World Hockey Championship.

Kristers Gudļevskis stopped all 38 shots he faced to backstop Latvia to a win over Germany at the World Hockey Championship.


WHC: Hungary 2, Austria 4

Dominik Zwerger and Thimo Nickl scored 44 seconds apart for Austria to pull away from Hungary to move to 2-0 in the tournament.


WHC: Sweden 6, Denmark 2

Lucas Raymond, Viggo Bjorck, and Ivar Stenberg combined for seven points as Sweden rolled past Denmark. Arvid Soderblom made 14 saves in the win.


WHC: Slovakia 4, Italy 1

Marek Hrivik, Viliam Kmec, Kristian Pospisil and Oliver Okuliar all found the back of the net while Adam Gajan made 23 saves as Slovakia moved to 2-0 in Fribourg.


WHC: United States 5, Great Britain 1

Isaac Howard scored twice, including the second-period winner, while Mathieu Olivier and Paul Cotter stepped up with a goal and two assists apiece as the Americans got their first win at the World Championship. Devin Cooley made 19 saves in the victory.


WHC: Canada 6, Italy 0

Canada scored three goals in the first period, including a laser from captain Macklin Celebrini, who later added another goal and an assist for a three-point game. Cam Talbot made 12 saves for the shutout as the Canadians improved to 2-0 in the tournament.


WHC: Czechia 2, Slovenia 3 (OT)

Marcel Mahkovec scored the game-winner as Slovenia stunned Czechia in overtime for their first win against the Czechs.


WHC: Latvia 2, Switzerland 4

Switzerland secured its second win in two days at the World Hockey Championship after battling an outstanding performance by Latvian goalie Kristers Gudlevskis. Damien Riat had two goals and Timo Meier had a goal and an assist for Switzerland.


Tavares stresses importance of growth and right mindset as tournament goes on

John Tavares says that Canada has continued to get better, but still have some things to work on. Tavares says that the right mindset is important, even with perceived weaker opponents as countries want to bring their best against Canada. Captain Celebrini shines in rout of Italy

19-year-old Macklin Celebrini hasn't felt the pressure of wearing the 'C' for a veteran-laden roster, and it showed with a three-point performance against Italy. TSN Hockey analyst Carlo Colaiacovo has more on his game, as well as Canada's ability to change and adapt on the fly.


WHC: Finland 4, Hungary 1

Jesse Puljujarvi scored two goals and an assist, and captain Aleksander Barkov had a pair of helpers as the Finns stayed perfect with a win over Hungary. Finland played without forward Teuvo Teravainen, whose tournament is over after being injured against Germany.

Macklin Celebrini scored twice and added an assist to lead Canada to a 6-0 victory over Italy at the World Hockey Championship. Dylan Holloway, Fraser Minten, Evan Bouchard and Ryan O’Reilly also scored. Goaltender Cam Talbot made 19 saves for the shutout.
