Teoscar Hernández smacked a two-run double off Riley O'Brien in the bottom of the ninth as the Dodgers rallied to beat the Cardinals, avoiding a sweep in the process.


MLB: Blue Jays 6, Guardians 3

Brett Bateman had three hits, Nathan Lukes lined a two-run double with the bases loaded in the fifth inning, and the Blue Jays moved within striking distance of the third AL Wild Card spot with a victory over the Guardians. Toronto has won five of six and is a half-game behind Cleveland after taking two of three in the series.


MLB: Rays 0, Rangers 6

Cal Quantrill allowed two singles and two walks in seven innings, and Corey Seager hit a two-run homer as the Rangers beat the Rays. Jakob Junis and Chase Silseth finished the combined three-hitter, Texas' 13th shutout this season.


MLB: Red Sox 6, Orioles 5

Nick Sogard's two-run shot in the eighth broke a 3-all tie, and Adley Rutschman homered twice in his return to Baltimore as the Red Sox rallied to beat the Orioles.


MLB: White Sox 2, Astros 6

Jose Altuve hit a two-run homer and Daulton Varsho drove in two runs with a triple to lead the Astros to a victory over the White Sox on Thursday.


MLB: Brewers 1, Cubs 2

Pete Crow-Armstrong hit his 39th homer and Kevin Gausman threw seven sharp innings, striking out nine and walking one and the Cubs beat Milwakee. Chicago salvaged a split of a four-game series with the NL-Central leading Brewers and are eight games behind in the division standings.


MLB: Blue Jays 11, Guardians 0

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a three-run shot in the second inning and had a season-high five RBI, Dylan Cease scattered four hits over six innings, and the Blue Jays routed the Guardians on Wednesday night. Cease struck out four without a walk and did not allow a runner past second base.


MLB: Orioles 5, Rockies 6 (11)

Brett Sullivan’s two-out, two-run single capped Colorado’s 11th-inning comeback as the Rockies beat the Orioles. Baltimore took a 5-3 lead in the 11th before losing their second straight game.


MLB: Phillies 0, Diamondbacks 1

James McCann hit a solo homer in the eighth inning and eight Arizona pitchers combined for a shutout as the Diamondbacks avoided a three-game sweep by beating the Phillies. Arizona is now a half-game ahead of the Padres for the third and final NL wild card.


MLB: Braves 9, Nationals 0

Ronald Acuña Jr. hit a three-run homer to become the fastest player in major league history to reach 200 home runs and 200 stolen bases as the Braves shelled the Nationals.


MLB: Athletics 9, Rangers 2

Henry Bolte had his first career multihomer game, while Zack Gelof, Jonah Heim and Alika Williams also went deep, as the Athletics scored nine unanswered runs to beat the Rangers.


MLB: Padres 3, Reds 7

Rookie Juan Brito hit his first home run, JJ Bleday and Héctor Rodríguez also went deep and the Reds scored seven unanswered runs to beat the Padres on Wednesday.


MLB: Cardinals 13, Dodgers 8

The Cardinals hit five home runs, including a pair by Thomas Saggese and a two-run shot from Home Run Derby champion Jordan Walker, in a win over the Dodgers.


MLB: Tigers 2, Twins 15

Royce Lewis and Ryan Jeffers hit three-run homers during a 10-run sixth inning for the Twins to highlight a 15-2 victory over the skidding Tigers.


MLB: Giants 12, Pirates 13

The Giants scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning to tie it before the Pirates walked it off on an error to spoil San Frans' comeback.
