Sonny Gray pitched seven three-hit innings for his majors-leading 17th victory to help the Red Sox beat the Orioles on Saturday night. Gray struck out seven and walked three while moving ahead of Philadelphia’s Cristopher Sánchez for the wins lead.

Riley Greene hit two solo homers, had a season-high four hits and drove in four runs, and Framber Valdez threw seven innings to help the Tigers blank the Guardians on Saturday night.

Alejandro Kirk, Ernie Clement and George Springer drove in two runs apiece to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to a 9-2 win over the Kansas City Royals on Friday night.

Travis Bazzana singled home Brayan Rocchio in the 10th inning to give the Cleveland Guardians a 4-3 win over the Detroit Tigers and a sweep of their day-night doubleheader Friday.

Teoscar Hernández smacked a two-run double off Riley O'Brien in the bottom of the ninth as the Dodgers rallied to beat the Cardinals, avoiding a sweep in the process.

Brett Bateman had three hits, Nathan Lukes lined a two-run double with the bases loaded in the fifth inning, and the Blue Jays moved within striking distance of the third AL Wild Card spot with a victory over the Guardians. Toronto has won five of six and is a half-game behind Cleveland after taking two of three in the series.

Cal Quantrill allowed two singles and two walks in seven innings, and Corey Seager hit a two-run homer as the Rangers beat the Rays. Jakob Junis and Chase Silseth finished the combined three-hitter, Texas' 13th shutout this season.

Nick Sogard's two-run shot in the eighth broke a 3-all tie, and Adley Rutschman homered twice in his return to Baltimore as the Red Sox rallied to beat the Orioles.

Jose Altuve hit a two-run homer and Daulton Varsho drove in two runs with a triple to lead the Astros to a victory over the White Sox on Thursday.


MLB: Brewers 1, Cubs 2

Pete Crow-Armstrong hit his 39th homer and Kevin Gausman threw seven sharp innings, striking out nine and walking one and the Cubs beat Milwakee. Chicago salvaged a split of a four-game series with the NL-Central leading Brewers and are eight games behind in the division standings.
