CJ Abrams hit a tiebreaking, two-run triple in Washington's six-run 11th inning, pitcher Miles Mikolas drove in a run in his first at-bat since 2021, and the Nationals snapped their seven-game skid with a 10-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night.

Ernie Clement crushed the first pitch in extra innings for a two-run homer that lifted the Blue Jays to a win over the Astros on Wednesday. Jesús Sánchez hit a two-run home run to tie it in the sixth and help Toronto take two of three games in the series. Jameson Taillon allowed six hits and three runs in four innings in his Jays debut.

Sonny Gray pitched six strong innings, allowing only three hits while fanning eight batters, Wilyer Abreu had a solo home run in the third, and the Red Sox blanked the White Sox to secure their seventh-straight win.

MLB: Dodgers 6, Cubs 7

Pete Crow-Armstrong homered twice and drove in four runs to help the Cubs sweep Shohei Ohtani and the struggling Dodgers with a wild victory on Wednesday. Ohtani went deep twice for NL West-leading Los Angeles, which have dropped six in a row for the first time since a seven-game skid in July 2025.

MLB: Rays 4, Rockies 0

Junior Caminero homered for the third time in the series, Victor Mesa Jr. tripled twice and the AL-best Rays beat the Rockies on Wednesday for a three-game sweep. Nick Martinez pitched into the sixth inning to help Tampa Bay to its 11th sweep of the season.

Blue Jays place Yesavage on 15-day injured list due to knee inflammation

Trey Yesavage has landed on the injured list. The 23-year-old right-hander was placed on the 15-day IL with knee inflammation, the Blue Jays announced on Wednesday. Right-handed pitchers Lazaro Estrada and Chase Lee have been recalled from Triple-A Buffalo, while Chad Dallas heading down to the minors in a corresponding move.

Luis Arraez had two hits and two RBI in his Philadelphia debut, Jesús Luzardo allowed four hits in eight innings and the Phillies beat the Nationals on Tuesday night for their fourth straight victory. Trea Turner added three hits and an RBI for Philadelphia, which kept its cushion in the NL wild-card race.

Troy Melton threw seven sharp innings and Colt Keith hit a two-run single as the Tigers beat the Mariners on Tuesday night to open their post-Tarik Skubal era. Detroit has won four straight and is one of several teams chasing the final AL wild card spot, moving within 1 1/2 games of Cleveland.

The Cubs spoiled Tarik Skubal's debut with the slumping Dodgers on Tuesday night, posting a victory behind key RBI singles by Nico Hoerner and Pete Crow-Armstrong. Skubal allowed two runs and four hits over six innings in his first start since he was acquired in a trade with Detroit on Saturday night.

Jonathan Aranda tied it in the ninth inning with a two-run single and the Rays capped the comeback with two runs in the top of the 11th that lifted Tampa Bay past the Rockies for its second straight victory Tuesday night.

Caleb Durbin hit a grand slam, Patrick Sandoval earned his first major league win in more than two years and the Red Sox extended their winning streak to six games with a victory over the White Sox on Tuesday night. Wilyer Abreu launched a pair of solo homers for Boston, which has won 24 of the last 27 games.

MLB: Cardinals 0, Yankees 2

George Lombard Jr. homered in a memorable big league debut as the Yankees beat the Cardinals on Tuesday night. Lombard, 21, went deep in his second at-bat by hitting an 0-2 sweeper over the middle of the plate from St. Louis starter Hunter Dobbins into the left-field seats.
