Trevor Rogers pitched into the eighth inning, Coby Mayo homered twice and the Orioles took advantage of Cleveland's wildness on the mound, beating the Guardians to snap a six-game losing streak.

Adley Rutschman hit a three-run homer off the Pesky Pole in right field, Brayan Bello pitched five scoreless innings in his first start since early June and the Red Sox beat the Angels for their fifth straight victory.

Teoscar Hernandez hit a three-run homer, Emmet Sheehan tied a career high with 10 strikeouts in his first major league outing since Aug. 2 and the Dodgers defeated the Reds. Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and a walk in his return to the lineup after a four-day break to heal multiple lingering injuries.

Javier Sanoja hit a two-run homer and Heriberto Hernández added a solo shot as the Miami Marlins beat the Chicago Cubs 10-3 on Sunday.

MLB: Yankees 3, Padres 4

Fernando Tatis Jr., Jake Cronenworth and Manny Machado hit consecutive home runs off Gerrit Cole to open the bottom of the first inning, and the San Diego Padres held off the New York Yankees 4-3 to take two of three games in their series.

Aroldis Chapman notched his 400th career save, Eli White hit a three-run homer following an error by Gunnar Henderson and the Boston Red Sox capped a four-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles with a 3-1 victory Sunday.

MLB: Blue Jays 1, Royals 6

Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez homered as the Kansas City Royals beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1 on Sunday to avoid a three-game sweep. Toronto (72-72) dropped a game behind Cleveland for the final American League wild card. The Guardians edged Detroit 3-2 in 10 innings.

Daniel Schneemann singled home rookie Angel Genao from third base in the 10th inning to send Cleveland to a 3-2 win over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday, the Guardians' third walk-off victory in the four-game series.

MLB: Blue Jays 4, Royals 3

Kazuma Okamoto had four hits and two RBI, including a tiebreaking single in the seventh inning, as the surging Blue Jays edged the Royals to pull even with Cleveland for the final AL Wild Card spot. Toronto won for the seventh time in eight games and moved over .500 for the first time since April 3.

Gabriel Moreno hit a tiebreaking RBI single in the 10th inning and the Diamondbacks rallied for a victory over the Astros on Saturday night.

MLB: Twins 6, White Sox 4

Ryan Jeffers hit a go-ahead, three-run home run in the fifth inning and Taj Bradley settled down after a rough start to lead the Twins to a win over the White Sox on Saturday night.

MLB: Yankees 5, Padres 1

Spencer Jones hit a two-out RBI double against his hometown team to start a four-run rally in the second inning, and the Yankees beat the Padres on Saturday. Carlos Rodón and four relievers held San Diego to three hits as New York pulled within a victory of clinching its 34th straight winning season.
