MLB: Brewers 3, Cubs 17

Alex Bregman hit three of Chicago's franchise-record nine home runs and the Cubs wrapped up their August power display with a 17-3 blowout of the Brewers on Monday night.

MLB: Mariners 8, Red Sox 9 (10)

Trevor Story drove in the winning run with a bases-loaded single in the 10th inning after Seattle walked the two batters before him intentionally, lifting the Red Sox to a 9-8 comeback victory over the Mariners on Monday night.

Jacob deGrom allowed a second-inning single in seven shutout innings while bouncing back from one of his worst major league starts, and the Rangers beat the Athletics 8-1 on Monday night.

Robert Stock pitched shutout ball into the sixth inning for his first major league win in seven years, Mark Vientos homered in his return from the injured list and the Mets beat the Rays 3-2 on Monday night.

MLB: Reds 7, Cubs 5

Rookie Sal Stewart homered for the third straight game to help offset two more home runs by Pete Crow-Armstrong, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 7-5 on Sunday night after rain delayed the start 25 minutes.

LLWS Championship Final: Curaçao 11, Nevada 2

Juriensly de WIndt hit a bases clearing double in the fifth inning to seal it for Curaçao, who join Japan as the only teams in the LLWS history to win a title with the country's name on their uniform.

Austin Wells homered twice in a nine-run eighth inning, Heliot Ramos hit a three-run homer in the fifth and the New York Yankees widened their lead in the AL wild-card race and clinched the season series against the Boston Red Sox with a 16-1 victory on Sunday.

Gunnar Henderson went off for the Orioles in this one, going four-for-four with two home runs, a triple, and five RBI as the Orioles took down the Athletics.

Jose Ramírez homered, hit his 1,000th career single and drove in four while Parker Messick struck out five and gave up one run in six innings to lead the Cleveland Guardians past the Kansas City Royals 11-1 on Sunday.

Max Scherzer pitched seven spectacular innings, allowing only one hit and fanning 10 batters to pass Gaylord Perry for ninth on the all-time strikeout list, Alejandro Kirk had two hits, including a home run and 2 RBI, and the Blue Jays picked up their first sweep since June, besting the Seattle Mariners.
