MLB: Twins 2, Mets 3

Mark Vientos blooped a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning and the Mets snapped their 12-game losing streak, beating the Twins after getting one superstar back only to see another exit with a similar injury. Juan Soto went 1 for 3 with a single and a walk in his return from a strained right calf, but shortstop Francisco Lindor was removed with left calf tightness in the fourth inning.


MLB: Astros 2, Guardians 0

Yordan Alvarez hit his major league-leading 11th home run and Peter Lambert pitched six scoreless innings, leading the Astros to a shutout victory over the Guardians on Wednesday. Alvarez's two-run shot in the first inning off Tanner Bibee helped Houston win two of three in the series.


MLB: Orioles 8, Royals 6

Coby Mayo hit his second three-run homer in as many days during a six-run sixth inning, and the Orioles beat Kansas City on Wednesday to take two of three from the Royals. Pete Alonso also homered for Baltimore, the third this season for the veteran slugger.


MLB: Reds 1, Rays 6

Nick Martinez dominated his former team for eight innings, helping the Rays avoid a series sweep with a win over the Reds on Wednesday. Junior Caminero homered in the third, and Ryan Vilade singled in Diaz, who had three hits, in the fifth.


MLB: Blue Jays 3, Angels 7

Mike Trout hammered his eighth home run of the season, Nolan Schanuel also went deep and hit a three-run double and Jose Soriano worked five shutout innings as the Angels beat the Blue Jays to avoid a series sweep. Soriano, who is 5-0, lowered his ERA to an MLB-leading 0.24.


Yesavage throws 2.1 innings, walks four in rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo

Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage made another rehab start with the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday as he works his way back to the majors. Yesavage went 2.1 innings and was charged with four runs, two earned, with two strikeouts and four walks against the Columbus Clippers, an affiliate of the Guardians.


MLB: Blue Jays 4, Angels 2

Lenyn Sosa had a pinch-hit, two-run double during a three-run eighth inning, reliever Louis Varland bailed out struggling closer Jeff Hoffman by inducing a game-ending double-play, and the Blue Jays held on for a win over the Angels. Eloy Jiménez drove in two runs for Toronto, which has won three straight.

Dylan Cease struck out 12 in five innings and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had three hits, including a two-run homer, as the Blue Jays beat the Angels to secure back-to-back wins. Cease earned his first win for the Blue Jays and finished one strikeout shy of his career-high.

Ryan Weathers pitched into the eighth inning, fanning eight batters, while Aaron Judge, Ben Rice, and Trent Grisham all hit home runs as the Yankees blanked the Royals to improve to 13-9 on the season.

Mickey Moniak hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh, and the Colorado Rockies held on to beat Los Angeles 9-6 on Sunday and give the Dodgers’ their first losing streak of the season.

Nathan Lukes broke out for three hits and three RBI, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had three hits of his own for two RBI, and Kazuma Okamoto had a pair of hits, including a solo home run for his third of the season as the Blue Jays offence scored eight in the first inning to best the Diamondbacks.

Corbin Carroll hit his fourth career grand slam off reliever Jeff Hoffman to break an eighth-inning tie, and the Diamondbacks beat the Blue Jays on Saturday night to hand Toronto its fourth consecutive loss.

Jeremiah Jackson's three-run homer capped Baltimore's six-run outburst in the eighth inning against Cleveland's bullpen, sending the Orioles to a 6-4 win over the Guardians on Friday night.

Pinch-hitter Masataka Yoshida singled over a drawn-in, five-man infield, scoring Jarren Duran from third base with one out in the 10th inning, as the Boston Red Sox beat Detroit 1-0 on Friday night, snapping the Tigers' six-game winning streak.
