Report: Blue Jays starting pitcher Berrios to have surgery on pitching elbow

Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios will have surgery on his pitching elbow on Wednesday to address a stress fracture, according to MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson. Berrios, 31, has not played at the big-league level this season as he continues to deal with a stress fracture in his pitching elbow suffered during Spring Training in February.

Daulton Varsho hit a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning as the Blue Jays rallied past the Rays on Wednesday night. Dylan Cease struck out nine over seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits and three walks as Toronto snapped a three-game skid.

Jonathan Aranda hit a home run and drove in three and Richie Palacios had three hits and three RBI as the AL East-leading Rays earned their 15th win in the last 17 games. Andrés Giménez hit two home runs for the Blue Jays in the loss.

Ryan Weathers took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, then gave up a single before Coby Mayo hit a three-run homer off reliever Brent Headrick to lift the Orioles over the Yankees.
