Drew Rasmussen pitched seven shutout innings, and Jonny DeLuca and Jonathan Aranda both homered as the Rays beat the Mariners. The AL East leading Rays (69-46) have won five of six. The Mariners have dropped seven of 10, and trail the final AL wild-card spot by 2 1/2 games.

Ben Rice ripped a tying single off the right-field fence with two outs in the ninth inning and Ryan McMahon hit a game-winning sacrifice fly in the 10th as the Yankees rallied past the Braves in a rain-delayed game that ended after midnight.

Josh Bell went 4-for-5 with a homer and Kaelen Culpepper also went deep in his major league debut as the Twins erased a four-run deficit and beat the Brewers.

Joc Pederson hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning and Nathan Eovaldi and three relievers combined to limit Baltimore to one run as the Rangers beat the Orioles.

Rookie Ryan Waldschmidt hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning off closer Edwin Diaz to give the Diamondbacks a victory over Los Angeles on Friday night, sending the Dodgers to their season-high seventh straight loss.

Reliever Tyler Rogers allowed two runs in the ninth inning after he twice loaded the bases and retired Brandon Marsh on a groundout to end the game and preserve the Blue Jays' win. New Toronto starter José Soriano allowed one run, and struck out three in four and a third innings
MLB: Cubs 6, Royals 4
Kevin Gausman retired 12 of 13 at one point and ended up allowing two runs on four hits and a walk. The Cubs gave Gausman the support he needed in the second, when Seiya Suzuki followed Pete Crow-Armstrong's RBI single with a two-run single of his own. Chicago wound up plating four runs off Daniel Lynch IV.

Payton Tolle struck out a career-high 14 in six innings and Wilyer Abreu drove in three runs as the Red Sox won their ninth game in a row with a rout of the Athletics.

Caleb Durbin lined a single to center field off Chicago’s Erick Fedde in the 13th inning to score NIck Sogard and the Red Sox rallied to beat the White Sox on Thursday night in a game that lasted more than four hours. Connor Wong had a two-run home run, and Anthony Siegler added three RBI for Boston, which won its eighth straight and 10th in 11 games.

Dillon Dingler had three hits and drove in three runs, Colt Keith had three hits of his own and batted in a pair of runs, and Framber Valdez threw seven scoreless innings as the Tigers crushed the Mariners on Thursday.

The Blue Jays took a two-run lead into the bottom of the ninth, and with two outs and two strikes, Alex Bregman hit a two-run shot to send it to extras, where an errant throw from Brandan Valenzuela in the 11th scored the winning run for the Cubs. It was the 11th walk-off win this season for Chicago, and the first blown save of the year for Louis Varland.

Dustin May won his Milwaukee debut and Jackson Chourio and Gary Sánchez hit home runs as the Brewers defeated the Pirates on Thursday afternoon. May, acquired from the Cardinals in a trade deadline deal on Monday, turned in a quality start, giving up two runs and three hits in six innings.

Cristopher Sanchez became the first 15-game winner in the majors this season, Bryson Stott had two of Philadelphia's eight doubles and the Phillies beat the Nationals on Thursday night for their fifth victory in six games.
