NL Wild Card: Phillies 2, Braves 6

Michael Harris II hit a three-run homer in the first inning, Ray Kerr threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings and the Atlanta Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-2 on Thursday night in the decisive Game 3 of their National League Wild Card Series. ATL wins series 2-1.


NL Wild Card: Cubs 1, Padres 4

Pinch-hitter Gavin Sheets blasted a two-run homer, five Padres pitchers combined on a five-hitter, and San Diego swept the Cubs out of the NL Wild Card Series with a victory in Game 2 on Wednesday night. SD wins series 2-0.


AL Wild Card: Red Sox 2, Yankees 9

Max Fried dominated Boston in the playoffs for the second straight year, Cody Bellinger and Luis Garcia Jr. homered, and the Yankees throttled the Red Sox Wednesday night for a two-game AL Wild Card Series sweep. NYY win series 2-0.


AL Wild Card: White Sox 7, Astros 3

The White Sox used a big first inning and a three-run homer from Chase Meidroth to propel them to a win over the Astros on Wednesday to sweep their AL Wild Card Series. It’s the first time Chicago has won a playoff series since beating Houston in the World Series in 2005. CHW win series 2-0.


NL Wild Card: Phillies 4, Braves 3 (10)

Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper delivered back-to-back eighth inning home runs to tie the game, and Alec Bohm hit a go-ahead homer in the 10th inning to give the Phillies a victory over the Braves. Series tied 1-1.
