Kawhi jokes about iconic laugh, Ka'wine & Dine, discusses Raptors' outlook

Kawhi Leonard reflected back on his first season with the Raptors, specifically his media day that was the birthplace of his iconic laugh and the Ka'wine & Dine promotion that attempted to entice him to stay in 2019. Leonard also touched on his health and the experience he can bring to a young team.

Now with Kawhi Leonard back on the team, Raptors GM Bobby Webster wouldn't reveal lofty expectations, but feels like they can win any given night. Webster also mentioned that they still have maneuverability to improve the roster, including a first-round pick in each of the next four years should they decide to take a swing.


Despite investigation, Raps 'had confidence' Kawhi deal would go through

Raps GM Bobby Webster revealed that the Kawhi Leonard trade negotiations started around draft week. Their decision to pause the trade was about "risk tolerance" in regards to the investigation, but said they had done their due diligence. "We wouldn't have agreed to the deal if we didn't have a level of confidence it would get done,'' Webster continued, and said that Kawhi wants to stay in Toronto long term.
