Falcons ink Canadian OL Bergeron to four-year, $96 million contract extension

Canadian guard Matthew Bergeron and the Atlanta Falcons have agreed on a four-year contract extension worth $96 million, according to ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler. It is the richest contract signed by a Canadian player in NFL history. Elsewhere, the San Francisco 49ers placed wide receiver Ricky Pearsall on season-ending injured reserve Saturday as Pearsall continues to deal with a posterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee.

Romo placed on leave by CBS Sports following arrest

CBS Sports has placed NFL analyst Tony Romo on leave following his arrest last week on suspicion of driving under the influence, the network announced Friday. Romo, 46, has been the lead game analyst for CBS' NFL coverage since 2017 after making four Pro Bowl appearances during an NFL career that ran from 2004 to 2016 and was spent entirely with the Dallas Cowboys.

Olave signs four-year extension with Saints; Nabers looks ‘good’ in first Giants practice

The New Orleans Saints are signing wide receiver Chris Olave to a four-year extension worth up to $132 million, including $90 million guaranteed, his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Jason Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Tua Tagovailoa returned to Falcons camp on Thursday but he didn't practice with the team, instead working on some individual drills on the sideline. Elsewhere, Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers took part in the individual portion of a full-team practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a serious knee injury Week 4 of last season with John Harbaugh saying Nabers "looked good".
