NFL: Bills 36, Texans 31

Josh Allen threw a pair of touchdowns and ran in two more scores himself to lead the Bills to a dramatic win against the Texans in a heavyweight AFC Week 1 clash.

New York QB Jaxson Dart connected with Isaiah Likely for two touchdowns and Devin Singletary on another, and Cam Skattebo ran for one in his first game back from injury as the Giants opened the season by beating the Cowboys in John Harbaugh's debut as coach.


NFL: Commanders 22, Eagles 24

Jalen Hurts threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns, connecting twice with Dallas Goedert who had 77 receiving yards as the Eagles took down the Commanders in Week 1.


NFL: Packers 22, Vikings 39

Kyler Murray left this one early with a concussion and did not return, so Carson Wentz stepped in and threw for 133 yards and three touchdowns to help lift the Vikings to a Week 1 win over the Packers.


NFL: Saints 30, Lions 31 (OT)

Tyler Shough threw an incomplete pass in the end zone on a 2-point conversion attempt, allowing the Detroit Lions to escape with a 31-30 win in overtime over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.


NFL: Bears 59, Panthers 37

Caleb Williams threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 65 yards and two more scores as the Chicago Bears defeated the Carolina Panthers 59-37 on Sunday in the highest-scoring season opener in NFL history.


NFL: Falcons 13, Steelers 20

Aaron Rodgers threw for 221 yards and a touchdown, while T.J. Watt had a pair of sacks and an interception for a touchdown as the Steelers took down the Falcons in Week 1.


NFL: Buccaneers 27, Bengals 33

Joe Burrow threw for 254 yards and a touchdown, while the Bengals defence got to Baker Mayfield four times for three fumbles, and kicker Evan McPherson went four-for-four to add 15 points and give the Bengals the win over the Buccaneers.


NFL: Ravens 41, Colts 23

Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry went off for the Ravens in this one. Jackson threw for 324 yards and a touchdown, and he rushed for another, while Henry had 24 carries for 144 yards and three touchdowns as the Ravens crushed the Colts.


NFL: Jets 23, Titans 10

Breece Hall had 22 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown for New York, while the Jets defence picked up three sacks and managed to hold the Titans to one major in a big Week 1 win.


NFL: Browns 10, Jaguars 34

Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence went 18-for-23 for 245 yards and four touchdowns, connecting with all of Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, Brenton Strange, and Josh Cameron for majors to help lift the Jaguars over the Browns.


Cooper Rush set to start for Falcons with Tua out with an oblique injury

Tua Tagovailoa has been officially ruled out for Sunday’s opener against the Steelers with an oblique injury, and Cooper Rush will now start in his place. Head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed the news on Friday and spoke about Rush's readiness to start Week 1 in Pittsburgh with both Tua and Michael Penix. Jr. out injured.
