Jacobs placed on commissioner exempt list; Kittle expected to practice with 49ers

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was placed on the commissioner exempt list Sunday. The move comes three days after Jacobs was formally charged with two misdemeanors stemming from an alleged incident with a woman in May. In injury news, 49ers tight end George Kittle, who tore his Achilles back in January, is expected to practice as early as this week. Aaron Donald comes out of retirement to re-join the Rams

Star defensive tackle Aaron Donald is coming out of retirement, signing a one-year $20 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams, according to a release from the club. Donald retired in 2024 after 10 seasons, and is a three-time defensive player of the year.


Tagovailoa leads TD drive and loses fumble in Falcons' preseason win vs. Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa led a touchdown drive but lost a fumble while playing the first quarter for Atlanta against his former team, and the Falcons beat the Dolphins 17-12 on Friday night. In other preseason action, former CFL standout Dohnte Meyers made his case to make the Bengals roster finishing with 51 yards of offence on three receptions in Cincinnati's 30-13 win over the Eagles.


NFL: 49ers 18, Raiders 12

Las Vegas rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza saw what it was like to face a strong NFL pass rush, even against a San Francisco defense comprised of reserves, and he was sacked twice and threw an interception in the 49ers' 18-12 preseason victory over the Raiders on Thursday night.
