Matt Boldy scored the tiebreaking power-play goal in the final minute of the second period, after having one taken away late in the first, and the Wild beat the Stars for a crucial Game 5 win in their first-round series. MIN leads series 3-2.

Connor Dewar, Kris Letang and Elmer Soderblom scored and the Penguins avoided elimination for the second time in 48 hours with a 3-2 win over the Flyers in Game 5. Sidney Crosby shook off a shot to his left knee to add two assists for the Penguins and Arturs Silovs had 18 saves. PHI leads series 3-2.
