Stolarz on surviving summer of change with Leafs: 'It's a vote of confidence'

After a summer of change that saw goalies Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby traded, Anthony Stolarz is happy to be starting the season with the Leafs. "It's a vote of confidence," the 32-year-old said. "They want to keep me around." Stolarz rewarded the faith with a strong training camp and an impressive 26-save win on Wednesday.

Evgeni Malkin, Hendrix Lapierre and Filip Hallander scored in the second period and Arturs Silovs made 19 saves to notch his third career shutout as the Penguins steamrolled the Flyers on Wednesday night.


NHL: Islanders 1, Maple Leafs 2

Easton Cowan had a goal and an assist in the first period and Anthony Stolarz made 26 saves as the Maple Leafs edged the Islanders to notch their first victory under new head coach Jim Hiller.
