Viggo Bjorck was thrilled to meet idol Sidney Crosby at the World Championship and walked away from the event with a signed stick from the Penguins captain. Calder Cup: Chicago Wolves 3, Toronto Marlies 4

The Toronto Marlies are Calder Cup champions for the second time, and first since 2018, after beating the Chicago Wolves 4-3 in Game 5 of the best-of-seven final on Friday night. Easton Cowan had three assists and finished with 18 points in 22 playoff games after his rookie season with the Leafs ended. TOR wins series 4-1.


Three-time Stanley Cup winner Toews announces retirement after 16 NHL seasons

Jonathan Toews is retiring from his playing career. He appeared in all 82 games for the Jets this season, scoring 11 goals and adding 18 assists. The 2010 Conn Smythe Trophy winner as the playoffs’ most valuable player, Toews has 383 goals and 529 assists in 1,149 games. The former Chicago captain reflected on his time on the ice.
