NHL: Hurricanes 5, Blackhawks 2

Jackson Blake and Jordan Martinook had a goal and an assist each and the Hurricanes beat the Blackhawks on Saturday night. Mark Jankowski, Sebastian Aho and Taylor Hall also scored for the defending Stanley Cup champions who won their fourth in a row.


NHL: Wild 4, Panthers 1

Kirill Kaprizov had three goals and an assist, Matt Boldy scored his first goal of the season in the game's first minute, and the Wild spoiled Florida's home opener by beating the Panthers on Saturday night.


NHL: Canucks 1, Devils 4

The Canucks opened the scoring but the Devils responded with four unanswered goals, which included a pair of power-play markers from Nico Hischier, as New Jersey snapped a two-game skid.


NHL: Predators 2, Senators 3 (SO)

Shane Pinto scored the shootout winner to give the Senators a victory over the Predators on Saturday night. Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson, who tied it with 2:23 left in the third period, scored for Ottawa while Linus Ullmark made 16 saves.


NHL: Oilers 3, Sharks 1

Mattias Ekholm opened the scoring with his first of the year, Vasily Podkolzin added his fifth of the season and the Oilers knocked off the Sharks for their fourth straight win.


NHL: Maple Leafs 6, Avalanche 3

William Nylander and Easton Cowan scored 46 seconds apart late in the second period, and the Maple Leafs doubled up the Avalanche on Saturday night. Nylander finished with two goals and had a career-high three assists to finish with five points, also tying a career high, while Auston Matthews had two goals and two assists.


NHL: Flyers 1, Bruins 5

Fraser Minten had a goal and two assists, Pavel Zacha scored his first goal of the season and the Bruins beat the struggling Flyers, who still haven't earned a win this season.


Burakovsky set to make Senators debut tonight vs. Predators

After missing the first four games of the season, André Burakovsky is set to make his Senators debut tonight when Ottawa hosts the Predators. Head coach Travis Green spoke about what Burakovsky brings to the Sens, who are trying to make it four wins in five games to open the season.


NHL: Ducks 5, Jets 1

Rookie Judd Caulfield scored his first NHL goal and added an assist as the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-1 on Friday night. It was Winnipeg’s first loss of the season in regulation.
