Early Trading: Wait and see on Hyman's injury; Tanev and Tavares making progress

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger joins Gino Reda to discuss the concerns around Zach Hyman's latest injury, potential return updates for Chris Tanev and John Tavares, the Kraken's desire to add a top scoring winger, the Predators' interest in adding young skill to the roster, the Red Wings still monitoring teams not on Dylan Larkin's no-trade list, and the long list of teams interested in Simon Edvinsson.

NHL: Red Wings 4, Oilers 3 (SO)

Dylan Larkin scored with just over a minute left in regulation to tie things up, as the Oilers blew two third-period leads and Lucas Raymond scored the only goal of the shoot to hand Edmonton back-to-back losses.

NHL: Maple Leafs 2, Flames 5

The Flames jumped out to an early 3-0 lead thanks to a pair of goals from Matvei Gridin and Calgary wouldn't look back from there, as they added a pair of empty-netters for their fourth straight win.

NHL: Kings 6, Rangers 3

Drew Doughty had a goal and two assists, and Artemi Panarin added a power-play goal and an assist as the Los Angeles Kings beat the New York Rangers 6-3 on Monday night.

An old quote on McDavid comes back to bite Babcock

When Mike Babcock took the Oilers job, he stressed that the team needs more contributions from more players. Well, that hasn't been the case so far, and an old Babcock quote has come back to bite him. TSN's Ryan Rishaug explains.

'Cowboy' Cowan turning heads throughout Maple Leafs organization

The Maple Leafs have won four straight games since promoting Easton Cowan to the top line beside Auston Matthews. The sophomore winger piled up five points and helped Toronto keep Macklin Celebrini and Connor McDavid off the board in 5-on-5 play. Tonight, the kid they call Cowboy received a huge vote of confidence from general manager John Chayka in Calgary. TSN's Mark Masters has more in this report.

Leafs GM Chayka downplays desire to add on defence; Tanev 'progressing nicely'

Maple Leafs general manager John Chayka shared an update on defenceman Chris Tanev, who was in a red non-contact jersey at Maple Leafs practice on Monday. The GM said his team needs to improve their defensive play but he is optimistic that it can come internally and not necessarily via a transaction.
