Hellebuyck goes public with trade request as training camp nears

Connor Hellebuyck has officially confirmed his trade request from the Jets this summer. Back in June, TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported that Hellebuyck wouldn't mind a change of scenery, while Winnipeg GM Kevin Cheveldayoff declined to confirm whether or not the goalie requested a trade. On Thursday, Hellebuyck released a statement and went public with his trade request.


Hedman ready to bounce back from injury-plagued season with Lightning

Tampa Bay Lightning captain Victor Hedman is feeling healthy and ready to return for his 18th NHL season. The 35-year-old defenceman suited up in just 33 games last year due to injury and a personal leave of absence but is now ready and motivated to get the Lightning back to contender status after a string of first-round exits. “For me, it’s just feeling healthy and feeling like my body is where I want it to be,” Hedman told NHL.com.


Oilers' Andersen, Janmark slated to miss training camp

Frederik Andersen is not expected to participate in training camp next month with the Oilers as he continues to recover from an injury sustained during off-season training sessions. Mattias Janmark, Matt Savoie and Alec Regula are also slated to miss training camp.
