Hyman praises Canucks pick and Bulldogs alumnus Malhotra ahead of World Junior camp

Zach Hyman and his family were approved as owners of the OHL's Brantford Bulldogs in January of last year, and Hyman had high praise for recent third-overall draft pick, and Brantford Bulldog Caleb Malhotra. Hyman also spoke about playing against Nick Lardis, another Bulldogs alumni in the NHL, and what it's like to now be rivals with Mark Hunter, who was the assistant GM when Hyman played for the Maple Leafs.


Draisaitl appreciated Babcock's honesty; thinks 'change in personality' will help Oilers

The Oilers' leadership group was able to have an honest conversation with Mike Babcock prior to his hiring which left the players excited and hopeful that he can guide them past the hump. Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid spoke about the successful experience Babcock brings to the team while Zach Hyman touched on previously being coached by him in Toronto.


Blue Jackets, Greaves reach three-year, $15M deal just before arbitration hearing

The Blue Jackets signed restricted free agent Jet Greaves to a three-year, $15 million contract just before their arbitration hearing on Thursday morning. General manager Don Waddell confirmed to The Athletic on Tuesday that the Blue Jackets filed for a $2.8 million salary, while Greaves countered at $7.5 million. The new $5 million average annual value falls almost exactly in the middle of the two briefs.


Blackhawks bring back franchise icon Kane on two-year, $16M deal

Patrick Kane is back with the Blackhawks. Chicago announced Thursday that the unrestricted free agent has signed a two-year, $16 million contract carrying a cap hit of $8 million. Kane had 16 goals and 57 points in 67 games with the Red Wings last season.


Stars sign Robertson to one-year, $12 million contract

The Stars have signed restricted free agent forward Jason Robertson to a one-year, $12 million contract. The 26-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent next summer, but can sign a contract extension after January 1, 2027.


After signing new deal with Blackhawks, Bedard pumped for the new season

Connor Bedard signed a five-year, $75 million contract with the Blackhawks over the weekend and he spoke about being pleased to get the deal done, the moves the team has made in the offseason, including acquiring defenceman Bowen Byram, and his excitement to get the season started.
