Former NHL coach and longtime analyst Barry Melrose passed away at age 70 on Wednesday. Melrose, who was a longtime analyst with ESPN, retired in 2023 after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He most notably coached Wayne Gretzky and the Kings to the Stanley Cup Final in 1993 before they lost to the Canadiens.


Tanev talks 'Where It All Began' Tour and long road back from injury-plagued Leafs season

Formenton 'very excited to be an Oiler' after signing one-year deal

The Oilers have signed forward Alex Formenton to a one-year, $850,000 contract. Formenton discussed the opportunity and his hope to return to form, despite missing four NHL seasons. He is one of five player who were charged with sexual assault following an incident in a London, Ont. hotel room in 2018 after a Hockey Canada event celebrating their World Junior title.
