The Montreal Canadiens have traded forward Brendan Gallagher to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for future considerations, and will retain 50 per cent of Gallagher’s $6.5 million cap hit in the final season of his deal. TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston confirms Troy Stecher is signing a two-year, $2.7 million deal with the Leafs ahead of his unrestricted free agency, but Matias Maccelli’s time with the Leafs is over as the winger has not been given a qualifying offer by the team and will become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday.


Penguins reunite Ruck twins at NHL Draft; Flames draft Jarome Iginla's son Joe

Liam and Markus Ruck got their wish. The Penguins picked Liam Ruck with the 22nd overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft on Friday, and then took Markus Ruck at No. 39 on Saturday to reunite the twin brothers in Pittsburgh. The Flames also welcomed a familiar name to the franchise by drafting Joe Iginla, son of Jarome, with the 65th overall pick.


Maple Leafs deal Carlo to Blues for two third-round draft picks

The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded defenceman Brandon Carlo to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for two third-round picks (No. 73 and 76) in the 2026 NHL Draft. Carlo was acquired by the Leafs from the Boston Bruins in exchange for forward Fraser Minten, a first and a fourth-round draft pick in March of 2025.
