The pairing of Rachel Homan and Val Sweeting has the making of a pretty good curling rivalry for years to come. Both Homan and Sweeting are young, talented skips in charge of equally talented rinks. Not to mention the storyline of Joanne Courtney leaving Team Sweeting for Team Homan in the off-season and the intrigue added to the matchup because of it. Homan has appeared in seven tournaments on the World Curling Tour, but has yet to win. The 25-year-old was bested by Sweeting at the semi-finals of the Masters of Curling, 4-3, and the final of the Canada Cup, 6-3, so far this season. She also lost in the final of the Canadian Open to Eve Muirhead.
