Laryea out a month with thigh issue, no concern about World Cup availability

Toronto FC defender Richie Laryea is expected to miss a month with a thigh issue, according to general manager Jason Hernandez. However, there is no concern the injury will effect Laryea’s availability to play for Canada at this summer’s FIFA World Cup as Hernandez hopes to see Laryea play for TFC before the international tournament begins in June.

Yamal to miss rest of Barcelona season but should be fit for World Cup with Spain

Lamine Yamal will miss the rest of Barcelona’s season but should be healed from a leg injury in time to play for Spain at the World Cup, the club said on Thursday. The 18-year-old will miss the remaining six La Liga games as he follows a ''conservative treatment'' process to heal a muscle injury in his left leg that he picked up on Wednesday in a win over Celta Vigo.


Report: Barcelona fears Lamine Yamal suffered torn hamstring

Lamine Yamal has handed Barcelona and Spain a major injury worry after being forced off immediately after scoring a penalty in Barça's LaLiga win over Celta Vigo on Wednesday. Club sources told ESPN the initial indication is that he has a torn hamstring, but the severity of the tear and the length of time Yamal could be sidelined will be confirmed via scans Thursday.

A header from goalkeeper Luka Gavran deep into injury time gave Toronto FC a timely draw against the Union on Wednesday night. Gavran ran up the field in the dying seconds and headed in a pass from Alonso Coello in the sixth extra minute to extend Toronto’s unbeaten streak to seven games.
