Luke Prokop is more than a first
It's easy to assume that " The Hockey Player"— the new documentary chronicling the last four years of Luke Prokop's life—is primarily focused on the fact that he's the only openly gay professional men's hockey player. But there's so much more to Luke's journey than that. Since coming out in 2021, Luke has relentlessly pursued his dream of playing in the NHL facing obstacles with grit, courage and a sense of humour. While in Toronto for the film's premiere, Luke sat down with Alex Cairns Celebre to talk about what it was like to have cameras documenting such a pivotal chapter of his life, how the overwhelming response to Heated Rivalry helped push the documentary across the finish line, why Love Island never fails to make him laugh, and so much more.
