Tempo looking to improve speed and transition play

After losing their first game, the Tempo say that they are still feeling each out with rotations, and game plans, including using more speed and transition play. Toronto hosts Seattle Wednesday on TSN


With the pressure of making history behind them, Tempo now focusing on growth

The final result in last week's home opener wasn't what the Tempo were hoping for but despite the frustrating loss, the players know they have so much room for growth from here on out. Guard Brittney Sykes felt her team started playing their brand of basketball in the second half while Julie Allemand pointed out what they saw on film that needs correcting.


WNBA: Aces 105, Sparks 78

Chennedy Carter scored 22 points, Jackie Young had 20 points and nine assists, and the Las Vegas Aces beat Los Angeles in the Sparks' season opener.


WNBA: Dream 91, Lynx 90

Allisha Gray scored 16 of her 24 points in the second half, Angel Reese had 11 points and 14 rebounds in her debut for Atlanta, and the Dream beat the Lynx on Saturday night in the season opener for both teams.


WNBA: Wings 107, Fever 104

Arike Ogunbowale scored 22 points, Paige Bueckers and Odyssey Sims tallied 20 each, and the Dallas Wings opened the new season with a win over the Indiana Fever. Clark, who missed much of last season with groin and ankle injuries, scored 20 points in her first game since July.


WNBA: Mercury 99, Aces 66

Alyssa Thomas scored 20 points and the Phoenix Mercury walloped the Las Vegas Aces, making sure the only celebration for the reigning WNBA champions would be their pregame ring ceremony.


WNBA: Mystics 68, Tempo 65

Shakira Austin scored 18 points, including hitting four key free throws down the stretch, Sonia Citron added 26, and the Washington Mystics beat the Toronto Tempo to spoil their inaugural game. Marina Mabrey led the way with 27 points for the Tempo in the loss.
