MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes will have Khari Jones as offensive co-ordinator and Khalil Carter running the defence under new head coach Mike Sherman next season.
Former Concordia University coach Mickey Donovan was named special teams co-ordinator while veteran coach Rich Stubler will act as special adviser to the defensive co-ordinator, the CFL club announced Wednesday.
Jones, a former CFL quarterback, was most recently offensive co-ordinator for the B.C. Lions. He was named quarterbacks coach of the Hamilton Tiger-cats in 2009 and later served as OC before spending two years coaching QBs in Saskatchewan.
Carter, a former Alouette, had been defensive backs coach for the Calgary Stampeders since 2015. He will be helped in his new job as defensive co-ordinator by defence guru Stubler, 68, who has 30 years of CFL experience and five Grey Cups.
Donovan, 37, was head coach at Concordia since 2014. The former All-Canadian linebacker previously coached at McGill and Western.
