Lundgaard wins the Indianapolis Grand Prix and hopes to carry momentum into Indy 500

Christian Lundgaard made all the right moves Saturday. He waited for the perfect moment to set up a daring outside move with 18 laps to go, then nudged his way past David Malukas through three sweeping turns on Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s road course and sped away from the field to win the Indianapolis Grand Prix.

Elliott had never before won two Cup races this early in a NASCAR season

After first winning at Martinsville at the end of March, the most popular driver in the series opened May in Victory Lane at Texas. That 1 1/2-mile track is growing on Elliott after he had not been much of a fan of the repave and reconfiguration done there nine years ago.
