Do you remember playing the classic NHL Hitz video game?
With three titles released from 2001 to 2003, it was a short-lived series that didn’t try to emulate the simulation-style hockey of EA’s games, but instead leaned into arcade gameplay with wth over-the-top animations and a bunch of different modes and mini-games to play in.
This game was a real gem from its era, so of course we had to recreate some of the classic NHL Hitz mini-games with Ottawa Senators star Tim Stützle on a recent trip to Ottawa.
To no one’s surprise, going up against Stützle in these challenges was no easy feat. It’s all fun and games until an NHLer enters the room.
Still, Stützle seemed to enjoy his time going up against the BarDown guys, which just goes to show how timeless the NHL Hitz mini-games are to this day.
Is it time for a NHL Hitz revival?!
