The stage is set.

We knew Canada was going to enter the 2026 FIFA World Cup as one of the four teams in Group B. Now, we know who they are going to play, kind of, and can dive into Canada’s odds of winning the group.

Country Odds
UEFA Path A Winner+105
Switzerland+140
Canada+550
Qatar+3000

Canada sits with the third best odds at +550 to win Group B, a number that comes with an implied probability of 15.38 per cent.

This will be the third time the Canadian men suit up in the World Cup. After being held goalless in 1986, Canada made history in 2022 by scoring the country’s first goal in the event.

This year, Canada will look to make more history by earning their first point(s) in pool play.

The favourite to win Group B currently isn’t in the event, as the placeholder for UEFA Path A Winner sits +105 on FanDuel. That spot will be taken by one of four teams - Italy, Northern Ireland, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Wales. Currently ranked 12th in FIFA, Italy has emerged as the expected team to round out Group B and has the best odds of all the teams in the group at +3500 to win the World Cup.

Trailing UEFA Path A Winner is Switzerland at +140. Switzerland has reached the Round of 16 in four of the last five World Cups, but they haven’t won their group since 2006.

Rounding out the group of four listed on FanDuel is Qatar at +3000. This is Qatar’s second appearance at the FIFA World Cup after going 0-0-3 in 2022 as the host nation.
