Canadian golfer Brooke Henderson announced her engagement to Minnesota Twins prospect Ricky Castro on Sunday.
The announcement came one week after Henderson narrowly missed capturing the Evian Championship for the second time in her career. The 28-year-old from Smiths Falls, Ont. lost in a playoff to Ryu Hae-ran at the major.
Henderson has 14 LPGA Tour wins since turning pro in 2014, including two major titles. Her most recent tour win came at last year’s CPKC Women’s Open and she will be looking to repeat at the tournament in Edmonton next month.
Castro signed with the Twins in 2024 after a collegiate career at Purdue and Tulane. The 26-year-old right-handed pitcher is currently playing with the Triple-A St. Paul Saints, where he has a 2-1 record with a 4.13 ERA.
