Canadian Corey Conners closed out his Open Championship with an impressive final-round 67 Sunday at Royal Birkdale.
The Listowel, Ont., native made three of his four birdies on the day on the back-nine to finish at 4-under for the week. He sat in a tie for 19th at the conclusion of his round Sunday morning and finished 14th after Ryan Fox took home the title at 10-under with an incredible birdie on the 18th hole.
Conners has now made six straight cuts at The Open stretching back to 2021. He finished T10 last year at Royal Portush.
Conners was one of two Canadians in the Open field this week. Nick Taylor of Abbotsford, B.C. was 1-over in his final round to close out at 2-over for the week. He started his tournament with three straight birdies Thursday morning but was unable to keep the momentum going throughout the rest of the tournament.
However, this week did mark Taylor’s first appearance on the weekend at an Open Championship.
He made three bogeys and two birdies Sunday, and finished in a tie for 59th.
