The PGA Tour playoffs continue on Saturday with moving day at the St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis.
The top 70 players in the season-long FedEx Cup standings punched their tickets to this week’s event, which will go down to 50 at next week’s BMW Championship in Missouri.
Corey Conners was the first of the three Canadians to finish his round on Saturday after entering the day at 2-over. The Listowel, Ont., native birdied on the 10th, 12th, and 16th hole but bogeys on the 13th, 14th, and 15th holes has him at even par going into Sunday’s final round.
Abbotsford, B.C.’s Nick Taylor had a strong round on Saturday with four birdies. Aside from a double-bogey on the ninth hole followed by a bogey on Hole 10, Taylor finished up strong with a 1-under 69 for the round and 4-under in the tournament
Sudarshan Yellamaraju of Mississauga, Ont. led all Canadians entering Saturday but had a difficult Saturday, shooting a 6-over 76 to head into Sunday at 1-over for the tournament.
