WHC: Canada 3, Czechia 2

Macklin Celebrini scored twice off two beuutiful passes from Sidney Crosby, and John Tavares netted the winner midway through the third period as Canada defeated Czechia to close round robin play at the Men's Worlds. Canada will face rival USA in the quarterfinals on Thursday.


WHC: Finland 2, Switzerland 4

Ken Jager scored a power play goal late in the third period to help lift host nation Switzerland past Finland to clinch top spot in Group A. The Swiss finished the preliminary round 7-0 and will face Sweden in the quarterfinals on Thursday.


WHC: Slovakia 2, Sweden 4

Ivar Stenberg scored the game-winner on a solo effort in the second period and Sweden clinched their quarterfinal berth with a 4–2 win over Slovakia on Tuesday.


WHC: Austria 1, United States 4

The United States downed Austria 4-1 on Tuesday in Zurich to secure a quarterfinal matchup with Canada, who topped Group B in Fribourg. Connor Clifton, Ryan Ufko, Paul Cotter, and Matthew Tkachuk scored for the Americans, and Devin Cooley earned his second win.


WHC: Latvia 8, Hungary 1

Latvia powered into the quarterfinals of the 2026 IIHF World Championship with a convincing 8-1 victory over Hungary in its final preliminary round game. Sandis Vilmanis had two goals and an assist, and Rūdolfs Balcers set a national record with seven goals in a single World Championship.


WHC: Denmark 3, Norway 4 (OT)

Norway was clinging to a 3-2 lead as time wound down, but with goalie Nicolaj Henriksen on the bench, the Danes tied it with 1.1 seconds left in the game, but Michael Brandsegg-Nygard scored just 13 seconds into overtime to give Norway a 4-3 win over Denmark.


WHC: Great Britain 3, Germany 6

Germany scored three first-period goals and marched on to a 6-3 win over Great Britain on Monday evening in Zurich. The result, which ends the group stage for each nation, leaves the Germans with 10 points in Group A and a chance to crack the quarter-finals if they receive some help.


WHC: Italy 1, Slovenia 5

Jan Drozg scored twice and Marcel Mahkovec had a four-point as Slovenia secured its place in the top division of the IIHF World Championship with a 5-1 victory over Italy.
