TORONTO — Sam Antonacci’s two-run homer capped a five-run second inning and the Chicago White Sox didn’t look back in a 12-4 rout of the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.
Kyle Teel’s one-run double, Braden Montgomery’s fielder’s choice and Chase Meidroth’s RBI single provided the other runs in the second as Chicago (51-45) won its fourth straight.
Colson Montgomery drove in three more runs with a bases-clearing double in the fifth. Montgomery had a three-run triple in the seventh and then scored on Tristan Peters’s sacrifice fly.
Anthony Kay struck out five over four innings, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks. Trevor Richards, Seranthony Dominguez and Tyler Schweitzer came out of the White Sox’s bullpen.
Luis Urias, George Springer and Brandon Valenzuela all had solo shots as Toronto (45-52) lost its third straight.
Springer, making his first start in the outfield this season, also drove in a run with a fielder’s choice in the third inning.
Spencer Miles (4-2) coughed up six runs on six hits, striking out four over four innings. Adam Macko, Patrick Corbin, Braydon Fisher and CJ Van Eyk followed him to the mound, allowing six more runs.
