The Toronto Blue Jays placed reliever Tommy Nance on the 15-day IL with right forearm discomfort and recalled Canadian pitcher Adam Macko in a corresponding move on Sunday.

Macko, 25, was born in Slovakia but grew up in Alberta, where he learned to pitch. He made three appearances for Team Canada at the World Baseball Classic in March, where he did not allow a run and struck out four.
In 13 games with Triple-A Buffalo this year, Macko has an ERA of 4.50 with 19 strikeouts in 18.0 innings.
Nance, 35, has not appeared in a game with the Blue Jays since Tuesday, where he allowed a run in 1.2 innings of work in a 7-6 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays in extra innings.
In 19 appearances this season, Nance has a 4.05 ERA in 20.0 innings with 24 strikeouts.
The Blue Jays (19-25) will play the finale of a three-game set against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday, where they will look to take the series with a win.
