Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider was ejected from Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fifth inning by home plate umpire Dan Merzel.

Merzel called a balk on Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman, which Schneider immediately came on the field to argue.

After a brief interaction, Merzel tossed Schneider from the game, which led to an even more animated argument.

This is Schneider’s first ejection of the season.

The Blue Jays are in the midst of a tough stretch as they went on to lose 4-1 on Tuesday and have now dropped six straight.

They are 4-7 on the season and will wrap their series with the Dodgers on Wednesday afternoon, trying to avoid a second consecutive sweep..
