Impending free-agent Taylor Rogers hopes to return for a 12th big league season in 2027, but doesn’t want to play just anywhere.

If the 35-year-old lefty doesn’t stay with the Minnesota Twins, he hopes to join twin brother, Tyler Rogers, with the Toronto Blue Jays, Rogers told The Minnesota Star Tribune’s Bobby Nightengale.

An All-Star in 2021 with the team, Rogers returned to the Twins for a second stint in 2026 after previously playing the first six seasons of his career in Minneapolis. He appeared in 65 games this past season, going 6-4 with a 4.33 earned run average and 1.591 WHIP over 60.1 innings of work. He struck out 54 batters and walked 31.

Rogers found himself as the elder statesman in what was a young Twins bullpen.

“It was so fun to watch them grow,” Rogers told Nightengale. “Have those chances and succeed, then not succeed and figure out how they were going to do it, how they were going to set themselves up for the future.”

A righty, Tyler Rogers signed a three-year, $37 million deal with the Blue Jays last offseason. The submariner mostly served as a setup man for closer Louis Varland and had a fine season in 2026. He appeared in 74 games, going 2-3 with a 1.77 ERA and 1.169 EHIP in 71.0 IP. He struck out 40 batters, walked 22 and recorded four saves.

Should the Rogers brothers play together next season, it would not be for the first time. The Denver natives previously spent two seasons together with the San Francisco Giants in 2023 and 2024.
