MLB: Cardinals 2, Reds 1 (GM 1)

Alec Burleson delivered a two-run double early and four St. Louis relievers turned in perfect innings late to guide the Cardinals past the Reds in the first game of a doubleheader Monday. Left-hander Quinn Mathews, making his second career start, allowed one run in four innings to help the Cardinals win for the 10th time in 14 games.


MLB: Padres 5, Guardians 0

Luis Rengifo and Gavin Sheets hit back-to-back home runs in the second inning, Casey Mize allowed three hits in six innings to pick up his first win in a San Diego uniform, and the Padres defeated the Guardians on Sunday.


MLB: Mariners 3, Astros 2

Cal Raleigh and Randy Arozarena homered to lead the Mariners to a victory over the Astros on Sunday night. Arozarena went deep in the first inning and Raleigh connected in the sixth to help guide Seattle to victory, giving them a 9-2 advantage in the season series against Houston.


MLB: Red Sox 3, Pirates 8

Bryan Reynolds, Brandon Lowe, and Nick Yorke each had two RBI to lift the Pirates over the Red Sox after a 2 1/2-hour rain delay on Sunday. Pittsburgh won a franchise-best eighth consecutive home series against an AL opponent, a streak extending back to a three-game sweep of Detroit from July 21-23, 2025.


MLB: Phillies 7, Twins 5

Bryan De La Cruz hit a two-run single in the eighth inning and the Phillies overcame a five-run deficit to beat the Twins on Sunday and sweep the three-game series. Alec Bohm hit a three-run home run as Philadelphia won for the fifth time in seven games.


MLB: Cardinals 11, Cubs 4

Alec Burleson and Jordan Walker both homered and finished with three hits and four RBI, and the Cardinals pounded the Cubs on Sunday for a second straight win at Wrigley Field. Walker also doubled twice and Burleson once to help St. Louis cruise to its fifth win in seven games.


MLB: Brewers 6, Dodgers 2

Logan Henderson allowed one run in seven innings, Jake Bauers had four hits and two RBIs, and the Brewers beat the Dodgerson Sunday to take three of four in the matchup of division leaders. Henderson struck out six while giving up three hits and one walk in the longest outing of his two-year MLB career.


MLB: Rangers 2, Athletics 5

Zack Gelof and Lawrence Butler each hit two-run homers, Tommy White had his first major league homer and the Athletics beat the Rangers on Sunday. The A's won their first home series since June 12-14 in Las Vegas, and first series in West Sacramento since April 28-30.


MLB: White Sox 7, Tigers 5

Munetaka Murakami hit a go-ahead homer in the seventh inning and the White Sox rallied for a win over the Tigers on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep. Chicago now leads Detroit by 5 1/2 games in the AL Central.


MLB: Yankees 4, Blue Jays 3 (10)

Ben Rice hit a tiebreaking home run in the 10th inning and the Yankees beat the Blue Jays to avoid a three-game sweep. Toronto erased a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the ninth but David Bednar (6-3) stranded the winning run at second base.


MLB: Orioles 10, Rays 2

Colton Cowser hit a two-run homer and Christian Encarnacion-Strand had a three-run double in a seven-run sixth, Trevor Rogers allowed two runs in six innings and the Orioles beat the Rays on Sunday. Jackson Holliday also drove in three runs for Baltimore, which has won three consecutive games.


MLB: Red Sox 4, Pirates 0

Sonny Gray worked seven innings for his career-best 15th win of the season, Wilyer Abreu hit a home run, and the Red Sox blanked the Pirates on Saturday night. Gray struck out seven and allowed six hits while walking one.
