Are the Blue Jays deep enough to withstand myriad of injuries?

The biggest early season story for the Blue Jays continues to be the injuries, with Addison Barger hitting the IL, Alejandro Kirk poised to miss six weeks after thumb surgery and pitcher Cody Ponce out for six months. MLB: Reds 3, Cubs 8

Michael Conforto went 3 for 3 with a homer and two RBI, Shota Imanaga pitched six innings of one-run ball, and the Cubs extended their winning streak to nine games with a win over the Reds on Thursday.


MLB: Rangers 2, Yankees 9

Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt both hit triples, Trent Grisham had three hits and three RBI, and the Yankees offence came alive in the sixth inning to rout the Rangers. Ryan McMahon reached base four times after coming in for Jasson Dominguez, who exited early after hurting his shoulder making a terrific catch.

Bryan Woo tied his season best with nine strikeouts in six scoreless innings, Julio Rodríguez homered, and the Mariners beat Atlanta 3-1 on Wednesday to hand the Braves their first series loss of the season.

Andy Pages set career highs with three homers and six RBI and Shohei Ohtani broke out of a slump with two hits to lead the Dodgers to a 12-2 rout of the Astros Wednesday.


MLB: Rangers 6, Yankees 1

Nathan Eovaldi cooled off the Yankees for the second time in eight days, and the Rangers got early home runs from Corey Seager and Evan Carter in a victory over New York on Wednesday night.


MLB: Blue Jays 0, Rays 3

Shane McClanahan extended his scoreless streak to 16 2/3 innings as the Rays beat the Blue Jays to finish a three-game sweep for their 12th win in 13 games. Toronto has now lost four straight and five of seven, dropping to 16-21.


MLB: Blue Jays 3, Rays 4

Ben Williamson drove in the winning run with a single after Yandy Díaz tied it with an RBI single and the Rays rallied in the eighth inning to beat the Blue Jays Tuesday night for the their fifth straight victory. Kevin Gausman gave up two runs on six hits in six innings for Toronto and left with a lead after throwing 96 pitches.


MLB: Dodgers 8, Astros 3

Kyle Tucker homered and drove in two runs against his former team to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 8-3 win over the Houston Astros on Monday night.
