MLB: Padres 2, Mets 4

Robert Stock allowed one run and struck out six in 4 1/3 innings, Carson Benge hit a two-run homer to conclude an impressive series, and the Mets beat the Padres on Wednesday. Benge became the first Mets rookie with at least 15 homers and 15 steals since fellow right fielder Darryl Strawberry in 1983.


MLB: White Sox 3, Cubs 0

Chicago relievers Jose Urquidy, Sean Newcomb and Grant Taylor combined to two-hit the Cubs and lead the White Sox to a shutout victory to avoid the series sweep. Andrew Benintendi singled home the go-ahead run before Braden Montgomery put the game out of reach with a two-run double in the eighth inning.


MLB: Braves 4, Twins 6

Kody Clemens and Brooks Lee had RBI singles in the seventh inning and the Twins beat the Braves 6-4 on Wednesday to sweep the three-game series. Clemens drove in three runs and Kaelen Culpepper added three hits for Minnesota.


MLB: Tigers 3, Pirates 4

Brandon Lowe homered off Detroit closer Kenley Jansen with two outs in the ninth inning to lift the Pirates to a walk-off win over the Tigers on Wednesday. Rafael Flores Jr. homered twice for Pittsburgh, including a tying shot off Jansen, while ace Paul Skenes allowed three runs in 4 1/3 innings with four walks and five strikeouts.

Crow-Armstrong led off with a home run, his 31st, for the second straight game and sixth time this season. He homered in consecutive at-bats after his first career walk-off shot Monday.


MLB: Dodgers 7, Rockies 6

Shohei Ohtani hit a two-run shot to reach 30 homers for the sixth straight season and Freddie Freeman had two hits and two RBI as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 7-6 on Tuesday night.


MLB: Mariners 0, Brewers 22

The Brewers matched baseball's modern-era record for the biggest shutout, beating the Mariners 22-0 on Tuesday night behind three-run homers from Christian Yelich, David Hamilton and Luis Lara and a two-run shot by Jake Bauers.

Fernando Tatis Jr. robbed New York's Francisco Lindor of a grand slam and hit two homers, leading the Padres to a 5-2 win over the Mets on Tuesday night.

Cal Quantrill gave up four hits in seven innings, Justin Foscue hit a home run, and the Texas Rangers beat the Washington Nationals 5-0 on Tuesday night.

Josh Bell hit a two-run homer, Ryan Jeffers drove in Minnesota’s other two runs, and the Twins beat the Atlanta Braves 4-1 on Tuesday night. Zebby Matthews tossed 5 2/3 innings for Minnesota, allowing one run on five hits while striking out four.

Trent Grisham hit his 17th home run in the third inning and had a two-run single in the seventh to propel the New York Yankees to a 3-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night.

Adley Rutschman hit his first homer as a member of the Red Sox, Ranger Suarez picked up his first win since late June and Boston beat the Diamondbacks 9-4 on Tuesday night.
