Liam Hicks homered and drove in three runs as the Rays beat the Athletics to complete the sweep and secure their ninth straight win.


MLB: Royals 4, Dodgers 5 (10)

Max Muncy delivered a walk-off RBI single with the bases-loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Dodgers past the Royals. Blake Snell struck out 10 over six sharp innings in his return from the IL.


MLB: Rays 12, Athletics 4

Taylor Walls homered from both sides of the plate for the second time in his career, Nick Martinez tossed a complete game and the Rays beat the Athletics for their eighth win .


MLB: Reds 5, White Sox 4 (10)

Elly De La Cruz drove in automatic runner Matt McLain with a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning as the Reds snapped a three-game skid with a comeback win over the White Sox.


MLB: Astros 1, Giants 4

Bryce Eldridge homered, fellow rookie Carson Whisenhunt pitched 5 2/3 innings after working out of two early bases-loaded jams and the Giants beat the Astros.


MLB: Rangers 2, Angels 3

Zach Neto had an RBI single and scored during the Angels’ three-run third inning, and Los Angeles snapped its three-game skid with a victory over the Rangers.


MLB: Orioles 5, Twins 2

Pete Alonso, Gunnar Henderson and Christian Encarnacion-Strand each had three hits and a home run on as the Orioles defeated the Twins.


MLB: Mariners 1, Yankees 4

Ryan McMahon and Trent Grisham each hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to send the Yankees past the slumping Mariners. Ryan Weathers carried a one-hit shutout into the sixth and Luis Garcia Jr. sparked the decisive rally with his second double of the night for New York, which leads the American League wild-card race.


MLB: Red Sox 3, Blue Jays 5

Ernie Clement drove in the tiebreaking run in the sixth inning, Brett Bateman had two RBI and the Blue Jays beat the Red Sox for their fourth win in five games. Adley Rutschman went 1-for-3 and walked twice in his debut with the Red Sox.


MLB: Pirates 0, Marlins 2

Eury Perez allowed three hits over seven innings, Esteury Ruiz homered and the Marlins beat Paul Skenes and the Pirates. Skenes left after five innings and 65 pitches. He allowed two runs — one earned — on five hits.


MLB: Mets 0, Braves 4

Martin Perez pitched six more scoreless innings, Ozzie Albies and Matt Olson homered, and the Braves beat the Mets. Perez stretched his scoreless stretch to 18 innings, the third-longest active starting streak in the majors behind Tampa Bay's Drew Rasmussen and Miami's Sandy Alcantara, both at 20 innings.


MLB: Cubs 8, Nationals 6

Pete Crow-Armstrong, Alex Bregman and Seiya Suzuki homered, and the Cubs rallied from an early deficit to beat the Nationals. Chicago improved to a season-best 20 games over .500.
