Carter, Blue Jays greats honoured by statue to commemorate World Series titles

Joe Carter and other Blue Jays greats from the 1992 and 1993 World Series winning teams share how honoured they are by the statue unveiled outside the Rogers Centre to commemorate their back-to-back World Series titles, reflect on their memories from those amazing seasons, and describe the bond they all still have to this day.

Shane Bieber and three relievers combined on a four-hitter, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reached base three times, and the Blue Jays blanked the White Sox on Saturday to snap Chicago’s four-game winning streak. Bieber tossed six innings and struck out six to win for the first time in five starts this season.

Sam Antonacci hit a two-run home run, Braden Montgomery matched his career-high with four RBI, and the White Sox extended their winning streak to four with a 12-4 win over the Blue Jays on Friday night.


Brewers walk it off in 10th vs. Marlins

Garrett Mitchell’s two-out single up the middle in the 10th inning scored automatic runner Jackson Chourio from second, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Miami Marlins 2-1 on Friday night to snap a three-game skid.

Wilyer Abreu homered twice, All-Star Willson Contreras went deep in his first game back from a five-game suspension, and the Red Sox extended their winning streak to 11 games with a 5-3 victory over the Rays on Friday night to sweep a doubleheader.


MLB: Rays 0, Red Sox 10 (GM 1)

Jake Bennett allowed just one hit through six innings, and he got plenty of run support with Jarren Duran and Mosataka Yashida each compiling three RBI, as the Red Sox crushed the Rays in the first game of a Friday double-header.


MLB: Mets 4, Phillies 1

Francisco Alvarez homered twice, Brett Baty also went deep and the Mets defeated the Phillies in the first major league game following the All-Star break.
