Buffalo Bills wide receiver DJ Moore returned to practice in a noncontact jersey Saturday and will be designated as questionable for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Buffalo's wide receivers room is dealing with some uncertainty. Moore is recovering from a nagging shoulder injury and Joshua Palmer landed on the injury report late Friday with a shoulder injury of his own. Bills coach Joe Brady ruled Palmer and defensive tackle Ed Oliver (knee) out for Monday's game (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Moore hadn't practiced this week before Saturday as he deals with an aggravation of the shoulder injury he initially sustained in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. Since Moore's original injury happened on a Thursday, he took advantage of the extra rest and did not miss any games but once again left with shoulder pain late in the second quarter Sunday against the New England Patriots.

Minus Palmer and potentially Moore, the other receivers on the Bills roster include Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Greg Dortch and rookie Skyler Bell. Brady said Bell will be active for his NFL debut with Palmer out. Despite his 5-foot-11 frame, Bell played both slot and outside receiver in college.

The Bills have question marks in their defensive backfield that mirror those in their receiving corps.

Cornerback Christian Benford (toe) will be active Monday, Brady said, marking his return after missing Week 4. Second-year cornerback Maxwell Hairston will start opposite Benford, but Brady indicated that rookie Davison Igbinosun should be involved as well.

Nickel corner Dee Alford returned to practice Saturday after missing Thursday and Friday because of an ankle injury and is designated as questionable. Alford wasn't sporting any brace on his ankle during practice or afterward.

Alford's natural backup option, practice squad cornerback Te'Cory Couch, hasn't been spotted at practice this week. In Week 4, after Alford's and Couch's injuries, the Bills turned to safety Damar Hamlin in the slot.
