The Washington Commanders are down to their third-string quarterback as Marcus Mariota was forced to leave Sunday’s game in London against the Indianapolis Colts with an apparent leg injury.
Mariota is officially questionable to return after he had his right leg rolled up on on a tackle in the opening quarter. He walked gingerly to the locker room after the play and has not yet returned.
Athan Kaliakmanis is in for the Commanders under centre. He was selected by Washington in the seventh round in this year’s draft.
The Commanders are already missing starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has not played since suffering an elbow injury in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys. Mariota threw for three touchdowns last week in a 33-31 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
