Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander missed Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres with a lower-body injury, but head coach Craig Berube doesn’t seem to think he will be out very long.

“I’m hoping he’ll be fine next game,” Berube told reporters after Toronto’s 4-3 overtime victory Saturday.

Nylander was a late scratch prior to puck drop Saturday and was replaced on the top line by Nick Robertson. He had a goal in 14:54 of ice time in the win.

Nylander went to the dressing room after falling in the front-end of Toronto’s home-and-home with the Sabres in Buffalo Friday night. After the game head coach Craig Berube told reporters “we’ll see” when asked about the star forward’s status for Saturday.

Nylander had a goal in 17:39 of ice time before departing.

Toronto moved to 4-4-1 with nine points in nine games after Saturday’s victory.
