Chicago Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill announced that captain Nick Foligno will be out for approximately four weeks after suffering a hand injury in Saturday’s 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With about 1:30 remaining in the second period, Foligno took a shot off the hand. He left the game and did not return. He played 10:31 and was a minus-1 before departing.

The Blackhawks went into the third period down 2-1 and rallied for the win as Teuvo Teravainen and Colton Dach scored in the final frame.

The 38-year-old has six assists in 15 games this season, his third with the organization.

Foligno was named the 36th captain in Blackhawks history in September of 2024.
