The Vancouver Canucks placed forwards Filip Chytil and Jonathan Lekkerimäki on injured reserve Monday after both were injured in Sunday’s 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals.

The Canucks recalled forward Joseph LaBate and defenceman Jimmy Schuldt from the Abbotsford Canucks in a corresponding move and also assigned blueliner Victor Mancini to the AHL club.

Additionally, the Canucks moved forward Nils Hoglander to long-term injured reserve, retroactive to Oct. 7.

Chytil was injured Sunday after a high hit by Tom Wilson at centre ice. After review, there was no penalty on the play.

The 26-year-old has three goals in six games to start this season. He 13 goals and 26 point in 56 games combined between the Canucks and New York Rangers last season.

As for Lekkerimäki , it is unclear what caused the injury. In the first period, he recorded just over four minutes of ice time and logged a hit.

Lekkerimäki drew into the lineup after it was announced that Brock Boeser would miss Sunday’s matchup due to personal reasons. He has one goal in four games this season after splitting time last season between the NHL and AHL.
